The rules of the Dark Paradise shard are based on many years of experience with the game and player behavior. They aim to support gameplay, smooth experience, adherence to basic rules of human behavior and fair play. Their strict adherence is required and required by Game Masters without exception. Dark Paradise aims to create a world for those who act in a relationship with each other with respect and dignity.
Basic rules of the shard
- The Game Master (hereinafter referred to as the GM) is the highest authority on the Dark Paradise server.
- Disrespect for this authority is punished by deleting the account.
- GM decisions are final and indisputable for players.
- The GM may decide otherwise than within the rules if it is in the interest of the game.
- The prices and functions of all things on the server, including these rules, may change at the GM's discretion with immediate effect.
- GM in no case and under no circumstances will compensate for losses of property in the game, even in the case of theft.
All players on the server are OBLIGATED to behave according to generally accepted rules of good behavior. If you do not respect this, your account will be immediately deleted without compensation.
The rules are further divided into the following sections:
- Rules for logging, clients and external programs
- Abuse of game bugs
- Training and general game rules
- Combat rules, killing, PvP
- Verbal rules
- Houses and private property
- Rules for naming characters, their titles and names in general
- Sale and transfer of accounts
- Using the help system
- Sanctions and enforcement
- Account security against theft
Rules for logging, clients and external programs
- It is allowed to use multiclient under clearly defined rules:
- A player may have a maximum of two characters logged in at the same time. These characters must not be active in dungeons simultaneously, whether in the same dungeon or in different dungeons. Furthermore, using a dual client to provide any form of support or gain any advantage in PvM or PvP is strictly prohibited.
- not responding to AFK control is considered to be AFK, you cannot argue by playing on another client.
- dual client does not serve to simplify punishments, therefore it is forbidden to use it in jail.
- running a dual client must meet conditions equivalent to relog (mainly applies to O/Ch, Pk - e.g. O/Ch players on dual must not have a PK character).
- when playing PK (player killer) character, it is not allowed to use dual client with any other character (that means not even other PK.)
- any abuse of dual client in a way that is judged to be violent will be punished by deleting accounts (all).
- It is forbidden to use other than approved external programs that affect the operation of the client or communication between the client and the server. It is strictly forbidden to abuse approved external programs to induce game bugs or give an unfair advantage over other players. Details and examples:
- It is expressly forbidden to use external programs to introduce game bugs, in a way that represents an unreasonable advantage over other players (e.g. turboloot in general, any form of automatic loot other than during PvM in a dungeon, smoothwalk, speedhack, etc.), allows activities that would not be possible with a standard client (e.g. casting parafields off-screen), allows unreasonably accelerated skill training, overloads the server or limits other players.
- It is forbidden to use external programs to avoid AFK control (automatic logout, termination of the activity in the presence of the GM, chatbot, etc.). If such behavior is detected, it will be punished by deleting the account or blocking the IP address.
- Setting delays for macros for crafting or training skills must be sufficient to properly complete the previous action. If an activity does not have a time limit, a minimum delay of at least 1 second is allowed.
- There must be a pause of at least 0.5 seconds between any other activities (including, for example, spliting ore).
- It is forbidden to use the ,hide and ,resend functions in both PvP and PvM, except in cases where the item falls into places where the circle of transparency function will not help.
- If you use an external program for trading with vendors or players, the maximum number of items allowed during one transaction is 5. There must be a pause of at least 1 second between individual transactions. Automatic parallel trading with multiple vendors or players is not allowed.
- The use of automatic scripts is prohibited. They are tolerated only in the case of character training, mining, manufacturing, fishing, mixing potions and writing scrolls. Any activity using automatic scripts will be judged and punished at the discretion of the GM.
- The prisoner, if actively working, is obliged to immediately answer any question asked by the GM, in order to prove that the character is actually controlled by the player. If they do not do so within a few seconds, or if the response is generated and the correct response is delayed, their account will be deleted and their IP address will be blocked.
- Approved external programs are: UOAssist, OrionUO, ClassicUO, ClassicAssist, Yoko-Injection, Phoenix, Razor.
Game Bug Abuse
A game bug is any error in the game or its settings that causes the system to behave differently than normal. Such errors include fundamental errors in the economy or any methods that are non-standard in an unusual or accelerated way will allow the performance of some activity (especially skill training). Abuse of these errors is punishable by the highest penalties. It is the obligation of each player to inform the GM about them if they find these errors.
It is also prohibited to intentionally abuse the game settings in a way other than that for which they are intended. This includes, for example, killing with a summon for which the player is not credited with a kill.
- It is prohibited to abuse game errors (bugs), even with the help of all external programs that would enable such use of such errors or directly induce them.
- It is prohibited to abuse errors in the server economy and incorrect settings, including prices at vendors.
- It is prohibited to teleport or otherwise influence events in the Starting Area and Class Hall.
- Players are obliged to report all errors and irregularities found to the GM.
Training and general game rules
- It is forbidden to train skills using deliberately failed attempts (for example, taming from the range of animals).
- It is forbidden to abuse NPCs, including using them for any sparring and training. Detaining NPCs (e.g. in houses) is not allowed.
- It is forbidden to train on objects that are not intended for this purpose by their function (e.g. Ressurection cross, traps, etc.).
- The minimum allowed pause between any activities (including transferring an item) is 500ms.
- Each player is fully responsible for the script he is using and is obliged to ensure that the script is stopped during Worldsave, Resync or Restart, if it is a script that Sphere is unable to handle.
- It is forbidden to go through dungeons in mixed groups, i.e. Player Killer + blue players. Violation is punished as aiding PK. The expeditions will therefore consist of either only blue characters or Player Killers (murderers). Of course, this does not include shamans, vampires and other characters with negative karma. Only game characters with the title murderer.
- It is forbidden to use a ghost/or character on a dual to spy around dungeons.
- Macroing, sparring and using skills while not following the game (also known as AFK) are prohibited. Details and examples:
- AFK is considered any situation where a player cannot prove to the controlling GM/Counselor that he is following the game.
- The GM or Counselor can choose any procedure for AFK control, but such that it is clear that it is a control.
- The penalty for AFK is determined by the GM.
- The player is NOT obliged to log out of the game if he is forced to leave the computer for any length of time. If he does not perform Macro or other activity that violates the rules during that time, he cannot be punished. However, there are also players who take advantage of the fact that a teammate has left and kill him without mercy. Therefore, it is better to log out.
- If the sum of your stats (STR/DEX/INT) without equipment and magic exceeds 300, you are obliged to align this value using the Travel Book or Stat Repairer. The highest tolerated limit is the value of 310 of the sum of all stats (except for professions that have higher stat sums set by default). Incorrectly aligned values of your stats can cause problems with passing through gates in dungeons.
- It is forbidden to train any skill or to periodically perform such a skill in the market place in Trinsic, and it is also forbidden to train and trade in front of the city bank in Britain.
- It is forbidden to log out in dungeons, even in the form of a ghost. Exceptions to this rule are listed in the Dungeons section, or in the given place using information signs. Logging out during a server restart is allowed if you continue after the restart.
- It is also forbidden to log out at the spawns of mounts and their surroundings, at access points to dungeons and in all unmarkable places such as islands, Ilshenar, etc.
- It is forbidden to use a ghost to spy around dungeons, at prominent places (spawns, passages, etc.), block in PvP, or harass other players in houses, etc. Walls of ghosts in a dungeon when trying to revive a quest are allowed.
- Ghosts are also forbidden to manipulate the ship in any way. The exception is the need to get the ship from the open sea when no one is around, or possible use in dungeons during PvM.
- It is forbidden to attack a monster from places created by a bug or by the player in such a way that the monster cannot defend itself. This rule also applies to blocking a single passage by a ghost or an invisible player or NPC. Examples:
- Examples of prohibited actions:
- Attacking a monster on the shore from a ship that cannot reach the ship.
- Attacking a monster through the ceiling that cannot attack through the ceiling itself.
- Blocking a monster by placing an item and then attacking it.
- Abusing summons to distract attention when an NPC cannot reach them (e.g. treasure maps on the coast and casting water summons).
- Examples of permitted actions:
- Attacking a monster that can walk on water from a ship.
- Attacking a monster through the ceiling that is attacking you through the ceiling.
- Hiding behind an obstacle that is statically in play and attacking a monster through it.
- Examples of prohibited actions:
- It is prohibited to gather a large number of items in one place that do not stack. Maximum number of identical items in a basic backpack u is 125pcs, the maximum number of any items in the basic backpack is 150pcs. Details:
- These are items that do not stack on top of each other, or the number of stacks of stacking items (daggers, full bottles, etc.).
- If you are training a skill that involves this activity - for example, you are training blacksmiths and letting items fall below you, step into places where the items disappear on their own.
- If there is still a large pile of items, you are required to regularly remove them from such a place (ask the GM for a trash can).
- The server is not able to deal with a large number of items in one place sensibly and may result in automatic deletion of items, overloading or even a server error. Please be considerate of yourself and other players and follow this rule. Also, warn other players, especially newbies, about its existence.
- Spamming the server is prohibited, both with text and actions. Details:
- It is prohibited to spam the server using a continuously held key or key combination. Before performing a certain action, the previous action must be completed. The rule also applies to performing any skill (most often, for example, Meditation, Mining) and also to repeatedly sending text.
- It is prohibited to spam the server with unnecessary texts - this also applies to selling or buying. If you are advertising something, set a sufficient delay (min. 5 sec). Try to avoid situations where the same text is displayed several times above your head.
- It is prohibited to use fake messages when casting spells (so-called Power Words).
- Training (or any other action, including repeated spam) without a properly set pause and subsequent server lag will be punished by deleting the account without warning.
- It is forbidden to abuse things that are not intended for this (e.g. tables, boxes) in battles. It is forbidden to use these things to block monsters from moving even in the event of a battle. This rule does not apply to objects placed by server administrators.
Combat rules, killing, PvP
In the world of Dark Paradise, unpunished mutual combat between guilds of the opposite guard and among themselves is allowed, and mutual combat between players of all faiths against PK is allowed. If you violate this and kill a player of the blue character, you will be credited with one kill. If you violate the rule 3 times, you will become a murderer, the so-called PK - see the Player Killers section. This is also the only punishment that awaits the guilty party for killing. Do not ask the Dark Paradise administrators for any additional punishments for this death or inform them about these events.
In the world of Dark Paradise, mutual declarations of neutrality status and war between guilds are not taken into account. Remember that as a member of a combat guild, you can be attacked and killed by members of your own party at any time with impunity. At the same time, as a member of a neutral guild, you will not be able to attack anyone without punishment, whether you have declared war or not.
- It is forbidden to attack or kill other characters in syndicate premises. Training that has been explicitly agreed upon in the game is allowed here.
- It is strictly forbidden for a blue/gray character to support a red (PK) character in any way - directly or indirectly.
- Every quest is non-PvP, unless stated otherwise at the beginning of the quest.
- If a player casts a spell on an attacking player or otherwise attacks them, they may not run into the house afterwards. If they do run into the house, a warning sign will appear on it. If they run into it again after being given the sign, the house will be set as "ruleless".
- The only way to escape from the fight is a successful teleport using the Recall spell (book/nb rune). After a successful Recall, it is possible to run into the house, because the player has effectively ended the fight in this way.
- It is forbidden to attack players in the house through closed doors using mass spells. The ban on throwing parafields into and from closed houses and into places where you cannot see continues to apply. At the request of the house owner, a house can be exempted from the ban on fighting. Such a house will be visibly marked and no rules for houses and behavior in them apply.
- Loot between blue characters and thefts (except for house thefts) are not penalized by the Dark Paradise administration.
-
Reprehensible behavior (interfering in other people's fights by calling guards, abusing guards, logging out of the fight, provoking players, relogging, etc.) or intentional game corruption, regardless of the violation of specific rules, can be rewarded with a reduction in karma, setting kills, or the Troublemaker flag.
The Troublemaker flag means a ban on entering the safe zone, arenas and guilds, permanent gray karma, and a bank with a fee. Repeated bully behavior can be punished by deleting the account. The Troublemaker title can only be removed by the GM at his discretion.
- It is forbidden to abuse the guard system:
- if a player is attacked in the guard zone, he has the right to call guards to defend at will
- if a player in the guard zone is not attacked by a PK, he has the right to use guards to drive the PK away, spamming guards (calling a large number of guards and spamming text) on non-attacking PK is punishable.
- Intentional waiting at the borders of the guard zone and spamming PK, or abusing guards for any purpose other than to protect yourself or another attacked character, is understood as intentional game corruption.
- Minimum pause between relogging PK and blue character is 10 minutes.
Verbal rules
- Players are required to respect the principles of good manners and decent speech. It is forbidden to verbally attack, insult or humiliate other residents of Dark Paradise. It is forbidden to use obscene or otherwise inappropriate expressions in the world of Dark Paradise.
- Players are required to behave respectfully towards the GM and Counselors and also towards Dark Paradise itself.
Houses and private property
- It is forbidden to rob houses in general. The rule applies to stealing using bugs and violent or unwanted entry into a house. It does not apply to unclear relationships within the residents of the house.
- It is forbidden to enter other people's houses unless the owner of this house has given his express consent.
- It is forbidden to attack players in the house through closed doors using mass spells. The ban on throwing parafields into and from closed houses and into places where you cannot see continues to apply. At the request of the house owner, a house can be exempted from the ban on fighting. Such a house will be visibly marked and no rules for houses and behavior in them apply there. GMs will not solve any problems related to such a house. This primarily concerns attacks, killings, intrusions of unwanted persons, but also possible theft or looting. No port/gate or logout statue may be placed in a house without rules.
- It is forbidden to ask the GM for any items (clothes, weapons, regs, etc.). This does not apply to paid house decorations, rents, etc.
- For houses of all categories, there is a maximum limit of 10 items that can be placed (locked) around the house. This does not apply to the trash can, house signs and guild stone. In case of violation of the rule, excess items will be removed without compensation. This rule applies exclusively to privately owned houses and does not apply to rental houses, which may not contain anything except for one spare key.
- It is forbidden to store excessive amounts of loose objects in houses (i.e. objects not stored in boxes or chests). A reasonable level is a maximum of 200 objects per screen.
- It is forbidden to keep animals in houses. If you are not present and the animal is left alone, it will be severely traumatized and will subsequently die. We therefore recommend using the magic "Shrink"
Rules for naming characters, their titles, and names in general
- The name of a character in the game or its title, as well as the account name, must not contain vulgar or other expressions that are or may be offensive, nor expressions that players could confuse with NPC characters (such as Zombie, Skeleton, Nightmare, etc.).
- It is also forbidden to use names and titles related to drug, fascist or other illegal topics.
- Stylistic criteria for naming characters:
- Start with a capital letter and the rest are lowercase. (Arwen, Anthony, Elephant, Robin, etc.).
- Numbers should not be used (so nothing like St3ak, L007er or 666BOB is not allowed; however, Anthony III., Buzzard 4. etc. are allowed).
- If a name is divided into two parts, then the first letter should always be uppercase and the rest lowercase.
Sale and transfer of accounts
- The rules of the Dark Paradise shard prohibit all sales of accounts, whether for real money or for assets within the UO.
- Accounts are the property of the shard and are only lent to players for the duration of the game and tied to the player to whom the registration was issued.
- The rules of the shard also prohibit all account exchanges, whether they are carried out account for account, account for account on another shard, etc.
- Furthermore, the sale of any items for real money is prohibited. In the event of a proven violation of this rule, the account will be deleted without compensation and the players' IP addresses will be blocked... both for the seller and the buyer.
- Accounts are non-transferable. Fill in your registration details correctly, because, among other things, account owners will be recognized based on them. It is logical that one person cannot own accounts registered under different names.
- You are responsible for your account and all its offenses in all cases, so do not give anyone access to it, because it will not be taken into account that someone else was playing for you at that moment.
Using the help system
- It is prohibited to abuse the "HELP - Message for GM" (also know as "Page") systems. Do not use it to ask for finding other players, reviving, teleporting, finding your belongings, etc.
- If you use the "HELP - Message to GM" system, write specifically what it is about. Otherwise, you will be punished for an unauthorized Page. For more information on using the Page system (HELP - Message to GM), see the FAQ section.
Sanctions and Enforcement
- If there is a violation of the rules, it is up to the GM to decide whether to resolve the offense. Inform the server administrator of the matter using the standard procedure and wait for their response. If they do not respond for some reason, it is a matter that cannot be resolved or can only be proven with the direct testimony of the GM. In such a case, there is no point in requesting further action. This applies primarily to combat rules.
- All offenses are tied to the account. So if you have three offenses with one character on the account and you make a fourth with another character on the same account, it is your fourth offense.
- All the penalties listed are only a roughly defined minimum, it is only up to the GM to decide what the actual amount of the penalty will be depending on the severity of the offense.
- If circumvention of the GM's decision or assistance in circumvention is detected, this activity will also be punished with a ban.
Securing the account against theft
The following rules are more of a recommendation, however, if during the resolution of the problem with theft or loss of the account, it is detected that they are ignored, this will be considered as a lack of interest in the account and the matter will not be investigated or resolved further and the account will be deleted.
- The password should be at least 8 characters long (maximum 16 - the client cannot handle more!) and contain a combination of letters and numbers.
Example of a safe password: Aex37zrp16hfbb
Examples of a dangerous password: 12, asd, same as account name, player name, phone number, date of birth, etc. - Do not share your password and access with anyone else, not even the GM. If more than one person has access to your account, there is always a chance that they will log in so that someone can reveal the password to them. Even if you trust someone, do not share your password via Discord or email. The safest way is to share it verbally, using a one-time link or by sending an SMS.
- Do not log in from potentially dangerous places, such as a cafe where you do not know the PC settings (it may contain a keylogger).
- If you suspect that your password has been compromised, change your password in the game using the command ".password new_password" (where new_password is replaced with your new password).
- The computer you use to connect to server and use a communication program like Discord on should be protected with updates and current system patches and at least basic Firewall settings.
Ignorance of the rules is in no way an excuse, so in your own interest, study them thoroughly and follow them.
