We are glad that you have decided to join Dark Paradise. Playing on Dark Paradise is completely free for you and without any other obligations.
Please accept this small warning that the Dark Paradise server is a private server and a hobby of several enthusiasts. It is unofficial, non-commercial and non-profit and has no connection to OSI, Origin, Mythic, Broadsword, EA or any other official UO providers. The settings of the Dark Paradise server are completely unique and in most aspects may not fully or at all reflect the settings of other official or other free UO servers.
We run the Dark Paradise server in our free time and its state may therefore not be fully professional at all times (although we will try to do so). This is also reflected in the fact that the GM or Counselors are not obliged to be present in the game or respond to player requests.
Any changes within the server are decided solely and exclusively by its administrators. We do not take any legal or other responsibility for the functionality and status of the server and no player claims can be linked to events in the game.
Account creation
- Each account is unique and is linked to registration data, which will be required from the account owner when resolving an account problem (forgotten password, blocked account).
- If the name of the character, game account, email, etc. contains expressions of an offensive, obscene, discriminatory or extremist nature or imitates these expressions, your game account will not be created at all, or it will be deleted by the administrators during the game without compensation.
- It is not necessary to fill in true data (first name, last name). However, the data will be required in the event of any problem with the account. So choose data that you will remember.
- If you do not use Discord, write down some of your identification number or code that you will use when communicating with the administrators and we will be able to verify you thanks to it.
- After approval, you will receive an email with your account password and your account will be active.
In-game character names
Make sure to choose the correct name for your in-game character that matches the fantasy spirit of Ultima Online. It is not possible to change it after creation, and if you choose an incorrect name, you risk having your entire game account deleted. Names like DP033, XtreeM, ++Error++, etc. will not be tolerated. You can have up to 7 different characters on one account. Characters can be deleted 7 days after creation.
Game accounts
Sales of player accounts
Server administrators strongly warn against any purchase of game accounts and fraud associated with it. At the same time, they do not resolve any disagreements between the owner and the buyer and reserve the right to immediately cancel an account that was obtained for a fee without compensation.
If someone gives you an account, remember that you will play as characters that are already in the game, and renaming a character, for example due to a bad reputation, is not possible.
Borrowing player accounts
Any transfer of accounts from the original owner is tolerated only until the first problem occurs. Avoid exchanging accounts or transferring them, in the event of any problem, the account and its release will be resolved exclusively with the registered owner and their registration details will be required, including communication from the registered Discord or other communication channel or using their specified code.
Password and how to change it
If you want, you can change your access password to the game at any time. Use the command ".password newpassword" in the game (example - it in quotes, enter without them: ".password onion11" This will give you a new password onion11). The length of the new password must not exceed 16 characters, the recommended minimum length is 8 characters. Use only numbers and letters without diacritics, arbitrarily combined. Do not use dots, spaces, dashes, asterisks or other special characters.
Do not forget that the server administrators do not send the current password of your account to the registration email, so do not experiment in your own interest and strictly adhere to the mentioned rules.
Characters lost due to inactivity
As part of the server hardware upgrade in 2010, the deletion of accounts due to 90 days of inactivity was abandoned and accounts that have not been logged in for more than 90 days are not deleted. However, this does not apply to blocked accounts. Thanks to this change, every player now has the opportunity to request the return of a deleted character (not an account) in this way. The player must prove that the character on the account was created and played by him, and that the player has not committed any serious offense during the game and that the account has never been blocked. This character will be restored, if technical means allow, without any assets and only for the owner's gaming purposes on his account. If you believe that you meet the conditions for the return of such a lost character, please contact one of the GMs via Discord.
