The following steps describe the installation of the desktop version of UO for playing on Dark Paradise, including the installation of supporting programs.
Download the game
Download Ultima Online from the official Ultima Online website, download the Classic Client version. After downloading, install the game and the autopatcher should automatically start, which will update the game to the latest version. If it does not start, you need to run the UOPatch.exe file in the folder where you installed the game.
Download the map
Once you have downloaded and installed the game, you need to upload the files that are modified from the official ones so that they can be played on Dark Paradise. You can download these files from the Dark Paradise GitLab. Then unzip this downloaded file into the game folder and you can play by running the client.exe file.
Alternative clients
If you do not want to use the classic client, you can use one of the alternative variants.
ClassicUO
Download the ClassicUO client from www.classicuo.eu, unzip the zip file and run the launcher. It will download the necessary files and all you have to do is create a game profile.
When creating a profile, select the folder where we installed Ultima Online and uploaded the files for Dark Paradise. Enter 7.0.116.0 as the client version (if the version is not selected automatically). Next, fill in your account name and password that you received in the registration email. These details are not mandatory, but you will always have to enter them when starting the game.
The last mandatory setting is Server Address: 178.238.38.119 and Port: 2593. The rest of the profile settings are up to you, whatever suits you.
Plugins
Plugins are extensions for the ClassicUO client. If you want to use one, you first need to download it and connect it to your profile. Below we will describe adding the plugin with the Razor support program:
Download Razor from the official website, download the Developer Preview version. Then we can follow the official installation guide or proceed as follows:
Start the ClassicUO Launcher and edit your game profile. At the end of the settings there is an Import Plugin option, which we run and select the downloaded Razor file and then save the profile.
OrionUO
Dark Paradise has ready-made scripts and Orion client settings. You can download it here. After starting, you will be prompted to set Encryption and select the paths to the UO and Orion folders.
